Away from my tarantulas until Friday due to work. Made sure to feed and water all of them before leaving and got some pictures doing that and some during a rehouse of my B. vagans.

Vagans at the very end of its tunnel system after about 20 minutes of slowly digging it out.

Newly rehouse, I did it on Friday and by Saturday it had a really nice mound going out the starter burrow I gave it so should be nice to see when I get back on Friday.

I had two molts this weekend before I left. This one is of my Nhandu chromatus.

One of my male Avicularia molting, it actually. Molted upright in a weird twisted position shown in the first picture but from what I could see it molted fine. It molted Saturday night so I did not get much check up time on it.

Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens patiently waiting for me to finish my photo shoot and finally drop the feeder I have ready for it.

Just got back into town from my certification testing and first thing I noticed is one of my enclosures has started a farm.

20181012_143351.jpg

Never had a mushroom problem so unsure how to fully move forward from this point so could use anyone's opinion.

The substrate is pure cocofiber, no topsoil or anything since it is for a relatively small juvie. I have removed both the mushrooms and picked up most of the spores (white stuff around the collapsed mushroom). Enclosure is for a Brachypelma boehmei which is probably large enough to be on a almost purely dry sub, just did a little extra watering before I left (cause of mushroom growth?) since I was unable to monitor like normal.

Bad enough that I should do a rehouse? Continue just picking out as they appear whole letting the sub dry out? Or just let it be?

I have not really had anything to take pictures of this past week. Everyone is alive and doing well. I did manage to get a picture of my Nhandu chromatus which is rare because the slightest look in its direction normally sends it running into his tunnel.

It's starting to get to a nice size and is looking awesome. Bad picture but that's all it allows me to take of it.

I had a molt today and it is kind of a big deal. The molt is from an adult Grammostola which does not happen very often at all and she was only in premolt for about two weeks.

She's a big girl, barely added any size by the looks of things this molt though.

Looking to get into old worlds finally soon and of course I would like to get pokies eventually. If anyone knows of (or does their self) someone in Oklahoma that deals in them please let me know. I have had no luck looking myself since from what I can tell this is not a very large tarantula area.

Here's a picture of the Grammostola that molted Monday.

This girl just looks beautiful right now. :astonished:

Winter months so not much to update on, my Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens molted on Friday into adult colors finally but is being a :mooning: and will not let me take a decent picture. Saw my Lasiodora difficilis for the first time since I rehoused it around two months ago I believe.

20181120_185235.jpg
Lasidora difficilis, such I love how they look and this one has grown so much since I got it as about a 1/4 inch sling.

20181119_215502.jpg

Best picture my Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens would allow me to take of it, at least it's a pretty butt.

20181120_191344.jpg
Aphonopelma hentzi adult, figured I have not shown this one for a while. Adult (pictured) is doing good, eats nonstop and runs to the entrance any time I touch the enclosure waiting for food. The sling has been a tub of dirt for a long time now, gotta love slow growing new worlds. Luckily it dug down to the bottom so I can lift up its enclourse and check on it, still has yet to molt so I may not see it for a long time.

Been a while since I posted.

Not a bunch of activity because of the colder months, I've had a few molts in the past couple months and I did lose one of my Avicularia since he hooked out.

Lasidora difficils has molted twice since the last update but never sits in the open for pictures. I got it as a little speck and now it's around 2 inch dls.

The little Aphonopelma hentzi is still locked up in its burrow and its been five - six months now I believe.

I did get a Kukulcania hibernalis female around two months ago that has been doing great. Neat little thing, looks like a T and webs nicely.

Couple pictures to break up the wall of text.

Took this about a month ago while having a discussion with a friend about how the brown tarantulas are "ugly" and I really like how it looks

20190204_152613.jpg
Nhandu chromatus with a dubia about the same size as it is. I took it just over 24 hours to finally finish that meal and drop it.

20190218_201925.jpg
Brachypelma boehmei molted about two days before this and I caught it outside it's hole. Starting to show the adult colors really well now, slightly darker reds in person than the picture.

Adult Aphonopelma hentzi, it likes to eat. Rarely see it as it's normally underground.

Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens semi fresh molt, it has ate once since it molted a couple weeks ago so it put on a little butt. It's rare it allows me to take a picture as it's normally really skittish, has not kicked a single hair yet though.

No real update, just look at this tarantula's butt.

20190312_172235.jpg
Should be a molt really soon.

Edit: this one did not want to be left out, as soon as I posted it climbed out of the burrow and sat at this.
20190312_182736.jpg
It's already back underground. (It's actually removing dirt and expanding the burrow but it being jealous sounds better)

The Nhandu chromatus black butt from earlier molted three days ago (Thursday) and I was able to get the molt and sex it as a female. From what I can see (in its burrow) it looks like it nearly doubled in size.

Two pictures of feeding time of the only two tarantulas that somewhat allowed good pictures. Both are really skittish so I have to take the pictures through the enclourse. Brachypelma boehmei and Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens with a dubia the size of it.

My Kukulcania hibernalis was actually out in an easy to picture spot so finally got a picture of it. Then some randoms stuff to make this post more worth while.

Kukulcania hibernalis.

Nhandu chromatus, rehoused it over the weekend into a larger enclourse so it is currently sealed back up. Hopefully I do not have to do another soon as it is not a easy rehouse. Received strikes, hair kicking and running like crazy from it during the process.

Couple molts past few weeks, the sling Aphonopelma hentzi that has been locked up for 4-5 months now finally molted and is no larger. Brachypelma vagans molted out and is showing nice adult colors (not photo friendly in the least). Finally, the Lasidora difficils which I got about a year ago as a 1/4 inch dls sling is bearing a 4 inch dls female, growing super fast.

20190401_161255.jpg
Brachypelma boehmei, after the last molt it got a lot more bold and stays in the open more often so I'm just enjoying taking pictures of it.

Should do a tarantula update since I have not in a few.

20190417_182103.jpg
Brachypelma vagans. Really ever see this little fella as it is almost always underground. It threw a molt out that I checked right after this picture so it is now a confirmed female.

20190418_064259.jpg The Aphonopelma hentzi sling that has been burrowed down since September finally as of yesterday dug itself out. (Edit: Accidently hit post instead of upload a file)

Aphonopelma hentzi are migrating in this area, found several while out hiking in my spot.

Also found where a juvie is living but it did not want to be fished out so I only got a picture of the molt it had recently ejected.

Some random pictures.

20190905_185809.jpg
Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens. Just like the blue on the legs.

20190927_165048.jpg
Brachypelma vagans. This one has started to actually finally stay above ground and I have been able to view it the last couple days all day long.

20190728_162127.jpg 20190810_142118.jpg
Grammostola rosea. This is actually my first ever tarantula and I have her for about 12 years now. She is an older girl and it had been about five years since her last molt. She molted about a month ago, I just never got around to posting it.

Random pictures: (new phone so might have auto correct typos in names)

20191015_175828.jpg
Grammostola rosea female, my first tarantula. Probably my favorite because of that reason.

20191015_175733.jpg
Grammostola porteri.

20191015_174658.jpg
Lasiodora difficilis. This little fella is the most food hungry thing I've ever had, it is even currently trying to eat its water dish I just filled even though I just fed it. :shifty: Makes it hard to do maintance, I will probably rehouse it fairly soon as it is growing.

20191012_140714.jpg
Aphonopelma seemanni female. One of two I have, the other refuses to ever let me take pictures as it is always under ground.

20191004_064417.jpg
Nhandu chromatus female. The best picture I can ever get as it is very skittish. This one has grown very large, probably around 5 inch(13cm) dls and I only got it 14-15 months ago at 1 1/4" (3cm).
