THREAD QUESTION: Do lower temps delay egg development in sacs and incubators?
As a background I have bred several Poecilotheria species and have pulled out sacs containing eggs with legs inside. Here are my records:
Poecilotheria metallica, January sac - Day 21, EWLs + bad eggs
Poecilotheria metallica, August sac - Day 16, EWLs + some undeveloped eggs
Poecilotheria miranda, July sac - Day 17, EWLs
Poecilotheria ornata, January sac - Day 17, EWLs
Poecilotheria striata, June sac - Day 16, EWLs
So based on my previous Poecilotheria breeding where I already get EWLs at day 16-17, I pulled out my P. fasciata sac last week at day 17. I noticed that temps here now are much lower than what it was during the breeding months above. Its now day 21, and I have not seen any baby legs growing out from the eggs. Is this normal given the lower temperature?
How long do I wait to finally say "oops, I may have pulled in a bit too early..."
