Okay so...I'm new to the site, so I don't know if I'm creating this thread in the right category, but I wanted to ask if it's possible to keep one of these spiders
Basically I found a pretty big spider in my house, but we can't let it roam around because we have cats, therefore it wouldn't last long...for now I put it in a little terrarium (around 30×15×18)
I did some research, and I found out that it should be a Tegenaria Parietina. So here comes the question: can I actually keep it? If so, how big should the tank be? Is there some kind of habitat I should recreate? How should I look after it? Also, are there some tips you can give me, since I'm completely new to spider keeping?
And if it isn't a spider that does well in captivity, where should I free it?

You are asking the WRONG question, because you obviously can keep it. You clearly have it already. However the right question is SHOULD you. The answer is NO. Considering you have zero experience, it would be wise to put this little spider into the wild.

Io opterei per il classico terrario di vetro, economico, rettangolare. Un 30 (larghezza) X 30 X 30 cm è ok. Metti un po' di substrato (fibra di cocco, torba Irlandese... almeno 10 cm), una corteccia di sughero, una ciotolina d'acqua (roba piccola, il classico tappo della bottiglia d'acqua di plastica è perfetto) e via andare. I soliti grilli come cibo.

Ecco, tieni presente che l'esemplare da te trovato potrebbe essere un maschio maturo... in questo caso sarebbe meglio per tutti lasciarlo andare. I maschi, una volta raggiunta la maturazione, vivono poco e quel poco lo vivono solo per cercare una femmina.

I perfectly understand what you mean, but at the same time how am I supposed to have experience if I don't start by keeping one? With this out of the way, I probably will free it, just gotta find a good place without cats so that it doesn't get killed right away
Also I find out that it is a Hogna Radiata ^^

Grazie mille per le indicazioni e si, dovrebbe appunto essere un maschio adulto. Un'altra delle cose che mi spinge a liberarlo è che dovrei procurargli del cibo adatto, e, non avendo negozi del genere nelle vicinanze, mi viene difficile. Dopo aver chiesto se andavano bene, ho catturato alcune cavallette da dargli, ma sono degli insetti che adoro, quindi dovrei comunque trovare altro perché mi sento in colpa...

Si, avevo immaginato lo scenario del 'ragno maturo'... lasciarli andare è sempre la cosa migliore. Hai fatto bene.
