Thanks everyone for your input and for sharing your experiences! The T in question is also an LP and from what I read here, its behaviour is pretty normal. Fingers crossed it'll leave the water dish alone once I get her a new one!

What about a 6 cm Teracotta watering dish. Try tipping that over !!!
