Superworms - from larva to pupa

Hello everyone,
I have few questions about when to separate the larvae from the communal setup for them to pupate. I picked the largest, but after two weeks some looked curved, but many, actually, shed their skin. What should I do? Put them back to grow more? Is there a more precise definition on when to separate them?
How long will they survive if not separated?
Thank you,
Francesco

Now I'm curious too. I hope someone who is more knowledgeable than I about this feeder species will answer your question!

I am actually interested to know how long they will survive in a communal setup. I am thinking to do an experiment when I get the first generation. However, in case someone knows the answer before, I am glad to know.

When I see that a larva I separated has molted, I put them back in the oats with a little slice of apple for moisture. I'd let them eat and grow for about a week before I put them back in the "pupation chamber". I've had pretty good luck with that.
