I have recently been thinking about getting a scorpion and am thinking about getting a H. arizonensis (desert hairy scorpion) just because I would like something that is relatively easy to care for (few requirements) and beginner friendly. I already keep tarantulas as well as several herps. In reading all of the previous posts on substrate I think everyone agrees that this species needs one that it can burrow into. Has anyone here ever used Jurassicsand? I use it in one of my gecko enclosures and am curious about it. It is probably the finest, dust-free sand I have ever used, but has the added feature in that when it gets wet, it basically clumps up and stays that way after it dries. Was wondering if this sounds like it might be a possible way to go? Thanks for any comments and suggestions.

In the book: '' Scorpions: A complete pet owner's manual '' by Rubio it says that jurassicsand is the best sand for burrowing scorpions but it also comes at a high price.

So if the price doesnt bother you, i think you got the perfect substrate.
