Strange Nephila lookalike. Need ID.

Hi! I got this spider today. I bought it from a guy who sold it as a Nephilingfensis sp. I've never heard of that species. He said it's origin is Madagacar. It's about 4,5" legspann.

Does anyone know what this is?

Another picture. She's pretty and FAT. Gravid maybe? Hope so...

And of course, she's free to build her web wherever she wants. This one is in a plant on my toilet.

Maybe som kind of Nephilengys species? The guy who sold it said that he could have made a spelling mistake when he was told what species it was.

Nephilengys and Nephilingfensis colud be the same name with some modification?

I don't think there is such a thing as "Nephilingfensis". I'm sure that what the person meant was Nephilengys.

So no picstures for a while, eh? Hmmm...a ventral shot would really help...

So he said it's from Madagascar huh? Nephilengys borbonica is from there, but I've never seen a picture of it, so that doesn't help too much.

I agree it's a real beauty!
