Hmm, possibly a juvenile or realtively freshly moulted Trachelas sp..

Not a brown recluse this time, nor a black widow, so it's harmless. :)

I'm getting fascinated by this. But still get the creepy crawly feeling every time I look at pictures. Does that ever go away? Lol.

Hope it doesn't. I forget the neurological term for it. Essentially, hyper stimulation of the sensory nerves. It triggers the flinch response and is part of our genetic survival code. But certain triggers of it can be dialed down or reprogrammed.

Just check out an old chronic alcoholic. A finger or two missing, chunks carved out here and there, an assortment of scars, maybe an eye missing, and as a bonus their face looks like it is slowly melting as the autonomic neural system has been inhibited and their muscle tone has gone fut.
