Any chance of getting some video or pics of your H. longipes? I'd love to see what the mother of my slings looks like!

One thing being into Haplos as I am that I can't stand is the whole Pet Hole thing... and to disprove that theory is the below video. Now I do not claim to be the HaploGod or any such thing though in my experience with housing them the way I do I see mine practically all of the time save for molting and laying egg sacs... and even then I get a peek!

I think I'm going to give those containers a shot. The only time I see my haplo is in the middle of the night, and I would love to see her out more often. Even in the middle of the night I rarely see more than a few legs poking out. She is my first haplo, and I'd like to learn how to maximize the experience. Great video and proof that they don't have to be pet holes.

Thank you Audrey...

I think Haplopelma is a genus that is severely underrated. Two major complaints that I hear: a) I never see them and (b) they bite!

Guess what? Brachypelma Smithi's bite, G. Rosea's bite... what's your point? Just because they bite more readily? Old worlders are definitely more primitive than new worlders and their behavior definitely indicates that. But what hobby are we in? This isn't Best In Show... you cannot domesticate a tarantula! You love them and respect them for what they are and not for what you want them to be, that's ridiculous!! These are intricate, beautiful and (yes) highly defensive spiders... but how can you not give them their due? Some of the most beautiful and impressive T's I've seen. That's my story and I'm standing by it!
