This morning I noticed both of my I.mira tarantulas had their little toes poking out from under the trap door indicating they were ready to eat. I went ahead and fed the one it's regular Dubia and it was over quick. The other one got a cricket and it ended up coming out more then it has in the past. I need a tripod for my shaky hands. Enjoy!

@EulersK I'm not saying I made a trip to town just to get some crickets for this video(But I really did). You need some of these man.

How awesome is that - how they opened up their little trapdoor like that at the end! Imagine how much easier carrying in groceries from the car would be if we had a few more appendages?

Yeah, normally they don't come out like that. They just grab their snack near the opening and you only see feet.

Mine did that last night. Mine is a bit larger than yours, but not by much. The funniest thing is when they shoot out of their trapdoor and can't find the trapdoor when they race back to it. It's hilarious to see them "confused" for a sec.

Gorgeous T. And nice vid;)
Thanks, I figured I'd get a fast grab and gone video. Instead I was able to see it more then I have since 5 mins after putting it in the enclosure. They are starting to become one of my favorites. I can tell when they are ready for food. They stick their little feet just out from under the trap door. It's too cool.

I was expecting a much more explosive takedown! Oh man, I have to have one of these. Next time I do a hulk order, there's absolutely no question - I'm getting one.

Yeah, the one a fed a dubia did the snatch and duck. It was quick. Sadly I didn't get that one on video.

That was the first cricket any of my Ts had offered. Not sure what the seller fed it. Maybe the cricket movements psyched it out. I was pleased at how much I got to see it though.

I actually just picked one of these up tonight. Got home dropped a Dubia in the vial he open his door so hard he chucked the Dubia across the room:embarrassed: I can tell this one is gonna be fun if they weren't so pricy I would grab another one. I have a very large tall voss glass water bottle I was thinking of using for it I think it would look awesome all burrowed down if I can figuare out ventilation

Yeah, they are pretty cool. I've enjoyed them a lot. I got mine when they were a bigger size but the price was good.

Recently there was a guy who did a great thread on drilling a fish tank. You could probably do the same with that glass container.

Nice I'll check it out! My other concern is if I need to get it out could be tricky since the opening is about the size of a Snapple bottle opening..could be a bit tricky lol but it would look so cool

Yeah, that would be a deal breaker for me. It's a problem not only getting it out but also in enclosure maintenance. Adding water wouldn't be too hard but changing water dishes and cleaning up food scraps would be very difficult. Feeding would be too bad but getting crickets that were not eaten would be.

There are a ton of cool looking glassware items that could be made into tarantula enclosures though.

feeding watering and cleaning out scraps don't bother me it's not that small..and even when full grow I know he could get out of the contaner my I just think trying to coax him out of a burrow and out the entrance might be tough but hopefully I never would have too. The bottle is 3 inches around and 14 inches tall with my large syrange and told I can do all the maint I would ever need just not 100% on it yet like I said it would just look awesome!

Trenor, where did you get those enclosures? They are very nice. I would love to get some.

They are pretty cool. They are roughly 5 X 5 X 5.5. I like them cause they are deep and the lid is shallow. I've used them mostly on my smaller burrower species.

I got the 63oz and they come in packs of 4 for roughly 14.99. I did have two of the lids get cracked edges during shipping. It wasn't bad enough to effect usage and I hit it with a touch of super glue. Check them out. :)
