Chris,

Just as reference, the specific species which venom is being used from, is L. quinquestriatus. They may have changed specimen since I last spoke with them in Alabama, but I'm pretty sure it's still the same.

adios,

Thanks Ed,

Did you work closely with this team? I'd be interested (either here, or via PM) to hear about your research.

I have provided specimen for several projects, otherwise, I'm just informed as a keeper of the species from friends who I provide specimen for, and for my own knowledge.

seeking scorpion venom

please excuse my intervention, but I'm in need of assistance. I'm looking to buy 70mg of scorpion venom from Leiurus quinquestriatus and Buthus Occitanus tunetanus. Does anyone have any information on where I can get it? My reasons are posted under "scorpion venom". Best Wishes to all.

I just watched part of this on my local public channel.
http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/

The video is for sale too here.
Video

It talked all about using venom for cures, and had some neat shots of desert hairy collecting in the desert. It wasnt just about Scorpions but it was good and informative.
