Hello all!
I am checking pictures of Scorpions I took in South Africa, and I as I recently discovered this really cool forum, I wondered if you could confirm or correct these ID's please? And maybe someone could add the species to the genus?

1-2 taken in Mpumalanga province
3-4 taken at the border with Zimbabwe

1. Uroplectes (trangulifer???)

2. Hadogenes

3. Parabuthus transvaalicus

4. Uroplectes trangulifer

What do you look at in the Uroplectes to determine the species?
Do you have an idea of the species for the 1 and 2?

For the most part, Uroplectes can be determined just by color. Some species have multiple color morphs, and some species do look similar to others. U. vittatus is pretty easy due to the presence of white 'stripe' on the mesosoma.

Number 1 does indeed look like Uroplectes triangulifer. And Callum is correct on number 2.

Ok awesome guys! (no species for Opistophthalmus?)
Thanks a lot!

For next time, which part of the body should I take a picture of to help the ID?
