Sad, my chaco golden knee is in a death curl. She is only 8.

Last week she was running all over, made a web mat, was doing great. Yesterday she just quit moving. She is in a death curl now. I've had her since she was the size of my fingernail and thought for sure she would live 20 years. I don't know what could have gone wrong, she was fine for 8 years. I haven't posted on here in a long time, but I know this is one of the few places you can express sadness over the loss of a tarantula. :(

Probably because that substrates too damp. Is it like that all over the tank? If so, change it out asap. And your spider will likely be fine.

If not, I'm very sorry for your loss. Losing a spider after so long sucks.

It's plausible something happened internally. If she was laying down a web mat she might have had the instinct to molt, but something went wrong inside.

Sorry for your loss, eight years is a long time.
