What does it mean if I have notifications that I've been quoted? This hasn't happened in the past but all of a sudden I have four of these alerts.

its just an alert to let you know someone quoted one of your posts. Gives you a chance to see someones response to you and reply back....it simply helps interactions move forward.

In addition, sometimes if you say something generally useful, someone else might quote you in an entirely different thread (with no expected reply). This also springs the alert.
