Usually their color changes and they look murky. Often, red and yellow becomes a yellow-brown, black becomes green, and other colors also get a yellow tint. This is because the skin they shed turns yellow when separating from their new skin. Often, they act lethargic and walk stiffly if they have to move at all. I have a centipede that just molted and will post pictures in the gallery.

And remember to not pull the molt ever! The pede eats the molt to grow!
