praying mantis question?

:?:? :? :? :? :? I have 3 praying mantises but I dont know what type of mantids they are. I know that they are native to New England. Allso I want to know if chinese mantids are the same as giant asian mantids?:? :? :? :?

Chinese mantis is Tenodera Sinesis while Asian giant mantis is Hierodula membranacea. So they are species of two different genus. I would guess it is either European mantis or chinese mantis you have there. Check the under arm of the mantis, if you see two dark circle, it is an European mantis. Otherwise, it is more likely that you have chinese mantis. A picture would definately help.
