Pleasing fungus beetles

Found these in the woods a while back. Pretty beautiful coloring. I like how they are black with an orange spot.

Actually, not pleasing fungus beetles, those are Penthe obliquata, a type of Polypore Fungus beetle.

There's so many different "Fungus Beetle" groups, it's easy to get them confused!

Hard to tell from the pic, but about how large were the ones you came across?

Maybe the size of a nickel.
