Please post at least one picture of your A.avicularia (if you have one), with a ruler or your hand close beside it. It is very difficult to imagine how big my Pink Toe could get (4.5-5.5), so, it would be great to see an example! Thanks guys and girls! :snaphappy: (Don't get bit!*)

CrazyPinkToe2day will not be held accountable for injuries acquired at the risk of T. owners. ;)

    Hand size is relative.

My Avics pics are all on my Instagram. None with sizes next to them however. IMG_20170922_171823_213.jpg

Why is it hard to imagine how large it can get if you already know the likely dimension. You could put a ruler next to your hand....I know that's a crazy idea!

Generally speaking Avics don't get too massive, despite their DLS. However. A. geroldi females can be as massive as the T formerly known as B. smithi.

As already stated, hand size is relative. It would also be pretty hard to get a ruler next to mine now that it's webbed up the whole enclosure.

Anyhow, here is an A. avic photo (right after I got it, before it started to web...3 and 3/4 inches unsexed):

  8. Yeah, I said people could use their hand because some people are lazy and probably would have done it I'd said "don't." Know what I mean?:banghead:;) Anyway, thx for the pic! It's really helping and I would love to have more people post pics of their A.avic here. Plz invite!

Skyler (Avicularia avicularia) would never let me put a ruler near her, but she was about 3.75-4" in these photos.

Her water dish is 5" wide and holds 4 fl oz (118 mL) when filled to the brim.

IMO they should change the common name - it's too adorable at the moment (Pink toes :shifty:). They should call it the bloody-footed bird-killer :troll:

My Caribena baby is hoarding dead crickets. Looks funny. Should I remove the carcasses from inside its web tube?

Yeva looks very blue in this photo due to the fact that she had just molted; plus, I had a bright light pointed at her. :)
