I recently got my very own S. subspinipes, and now that I've had it for about a week it should be settled in, but when I've tried introducing food (tried mealworms and roaches), it's been very skittish and run away from food - what's up with this? Am I doing something wrong? Everything else I got from the same expo has been voracious so far.

There’s chance it’s scolopendra dehanni, and as a result, isn’t eating because you’re mislabeling it. Let it hunt by itself also. Don’t shove food in its pede face.

You could kill a prey item and leave it in the enclosure for your pede to find. If he/she is hungry it'll be gone in the morning.
