Pandinus vs. Heterometrus

I obtained a large black scorp at a small pet store about a year ago. He was sold as a "Chinese Forest Scorpion" which I figured meant Heterometrus spinifer, but he's gotten a little bigger and I'm starting to suspect he might just be an emperor. Mainly the claws, most Heterometrus sp. seem to have smoother and smaller claws than pandinus, also, he's got the trademark pandinus yellowish telson. Anyone got any foolproof ways of telling these two simmilar species apart?

There are many species with smooth claws, and different colored telsons. Might be a longimanus or laoticus. It's been so long since I kept these species I forget the details... but basically yes, there are some heterometrus species that can have smooth claws. How are the claws shaped? A pic of any sort would help.
