Hello,

I need help sexing an emperor. I'm going to guess female, but I could definitely use a second opinion. Pectines seem small, but the genital operculum doesn't appear to have the heart/flyhead shape that's typical of females. If anything, it seems more oval-shaped to me.

Note: This is my 2nd attempt to post this image. The picture did not display properly during the first try.

Thanks in advance!

The thing suggesting female to me is the big gap between the pectines

I've never noticed any difference in shape in operculums, but there is a huge difference in length and layout of the pectines. For sure a female.
