Decided to keep a growth diary/log of my Pamphobeteus species. Thought it would be interesting to look back on in the future once they're all adults. They’re all kept at the same temp (80-85 day, 75 night), and will be fed at the same intervals while they’re slings (not that it matters since some are larger than others).

Let's get right to it (all the original sizes listed are from the dealers, will update once they molt):

Female Pamphobeteus sp. 'platyomma' - 2.5"


Pamphobeteus sp. 'cascada' - 1"


Pamphobeteus sp. 'flammifera' - 3/4-1"
Little ‘girl’ (hopeful lol) ran right into it hide after unboxing so I’ll leave it be, it’s the smallest one of the group.

Pamphobeteus sp. 'magna' - 1"


Pamphobeteus cf. antinous 'A' - 1 1/4"


Pamphobeteus cf. antinous 'B' - 1 1/4"

Yeah someday hope to get more phamphos , could be a long wait tho .

Caught the P. sp. ‘flammifera’ out while it was eating:


Oddly enough it seems like the P. cf. antinous are the ones who aren’t so great eaters so far.

Two new additions:

1 1/4”-1 1/2”

0.1 Pamphobeteus sp. ‘platyomma’ molted
Was approx. 3” before and now I’m guessing it added in at least 0.5” (anybody care to chime in approx. how much growth they put on?). Last molt was July 10th +/- 5 days according to the vendor.




She gets more beautiful as she darkens!

Looks like it almost doubled in size! Hoping it’s a female, if anyone can tell from this pic, lmk!

0.0.1 Pamphobeteus sp. ‘flammifera’ molted, didn’t expect this much of a jump in size!

Couldn’t measure the flammifera molt, was too damaged unfortunately.

But here’s the magna (suspect male) molt and recently molted (and confirmed male) antinous:
magna was a over 1 1/2”

antinous was a bit over 2”


Now this is him freshly molted:


They both will also be staying out of the incubator now and will be kept around 69-80 depending on the day. The others are and will be kept 79 during the night 81-85 during the day.

Suspect female Pamphobeteus sp. ‘cascada’

Almost 2”, so she’s probably around 2.75-3”

Don’t have a photo of the molt, but it was around 1.5”. I’m guessing it’s at least 2-2.5 inches now

It’s probably around 2-2.5” now

Received some more slings:

1-1.5”


Pamphobeteus sp. ‘manabi’
1.5-2”

It was right around 1.5”


Now, if I had to guess, it’s 2”+

Didn’t get a photo of the measurements, but it was right around 1.75-2”.


Love how the carapace is darker compared to the other even though it’s not more an 1” large than the other

Very cool to see it showing some pink already, unlike the cascada or magna, which are of similar size

Right at 2”


Now I’m guessing it’ll be around 3”

I'm going to add in some Phormictopus with this just for the giggles.

Pamphobeteus sp. 'mascara' C - was around 1.5", guessing it's now 2.5"+

Phormictopus cancerides 'Dominican purple' B - was around 1.75", guessing it's now 2.5-2.75"
