This is my first time with these species and they were all wild caught. They've laid me an egg sac and basically died right afterwards. I'm reading up on them, mainly the Micrathena and Gasteracantha, and it seems like their egg sacs just overwinter and hatch in the Spring. I was wondering if it was possible to just pop them in the refrigerator for a few weeks and put them back at normal room temperature, kind of like giving them an artificial "overwinter", or is this a stupid idea that will just kill them all off?

Once again, this is my first time with these species so I am not sure if this will work or not. Any answers are greatly appreciated.

Thanks! =)
