A couple of days ago, I noticed my cat staring at something. I initially thought it was an earthworm that had found it's way into the house, as it was long and thin, about four inches long, colored reddish orange and moving like a worm. On closer inspection, there were legs on each segment, but I didn't see close enough to see if there were one or two pairs of legs. Any ideas what it might be?

If it had a round body like a worm, but with legs, it could have been a millipede or possibly a caterpillar. If it had a sort of flat body, it was probably a centipede. If it was a millipede, my guess would be Tylobolus or Hiltonius sp. some of the regional varieties can look quite like a worm.
