Orb weaver ID?

I found this gem in the trunk of my car. I was thinking orchard orb weaver but I'm not sure. It was tiny, the size of a sunflower seed legs included. I live in southern NY state.

I can see why you'd think orchard spider on this one. This is a true orb weaver (family Araneidae), and from this photo it looks like Mangora maculata. However, if the spots continue (more than three pairs) it could be Mangora spiculata.

Thanks for the help! There were only 3 sets of spots so M. maculata it is.
