    Want one :D

Just another question on this topic. What species is called the bobbejaanspinnekop in South Africa? I spoke with a South African friend about my weird hobby of collecting tarantulas (she is a terrible arachnophobe) and she remembered having a lot of tarantulas around where she used to live which were called bobbejaanspinnekop. Is this an umbrella common name for all local tarantulas, like baboon spider? I know bobbejaan means baboon in Afrikaans. Just curious.
