Definitely an adult rove beetle, probably Ocypus like @Patherophis said.

Bloodworms... My friend accidentally bought some bloodworms thinking they were like earth worms. We both screamed when they did -the thing-....

Since you live in Europe that's likely the classic Devil's Coach Horse, Ocypus olens.

Saw one of those in Oregon where they've been introduced... quite large and impressive compared to other rove beetles like Ocypus nitens and Ontholestes.
