Hello there! I am abandoning the old thread "Nico's small collection of NW terrestrials" because I have two arboreals now, and the title no longer fits. I now have 18 Ts in my collection, up from 13 the last time I posted.

Also, I recently became an arachnosupporter, which allows me to post photos in a higher resolution than before, so now you can see more detail. I plan to post updates every 1-2 months so that you can see how everyone is progressing. Enjoy!

Wow!! What equipment do you use, if you don't mind my asking? Those shots are incredible.. I'm in love with the detail.

Thanks for the kind words.

My current T-shooting gear:

-Cheap, heavy, and sturdy tripod (forget which brand...it was $80 on amazon.)
-Nikon D7200 (any 3XXX or 5XXX body would work equally well for this task...you'd need to use manual focus on the lens I use, though.)
-Nikon 60mm micro F2.8D lens
-YongNuo YN-14EX ring flash (sometimes I use, sometimes not.)

I use the camera's self-timer most of the time because I'm too lazy to dig through my bag and locate my remote release cable.

Inspirational!

:p

Thanks for the rundown of the setup -- I've been struggling with lighting and I don't have any sort of flash. Will look into a ring. It's been phone camera for me most of the time lately.

Update: 4/20/18

Hello again! It's been about 3 months since the last update. A few new critters have found their way into my collection, and some have molted since the last round of photos.

Going forward, I've decided not to photograph those small, nondescript slings that all look alike. Why the change? First, I'm lazy. Second, it wastes my limited storage space on arachnoboards. Third, a lot of slings are burrowers, and digging them up just for a photo seems kind of like a dick move, honestly. And last, if you've seen one plain brown 1/2 inch sling, you've seen them all. Also, if there has been no change, or if a specimen has kicked itself completely bald and looks like crap, I won't be taking another photo until it looks reasonably nice again.

So, with that stuff in mind, let's take a look at some of my more distinct roomates:

A. chalcodes female (Daisy) at 3 and 3/4 inches:

A. avic mature male (Velcro) at 4 and 3/4 inches:

B. albopilosum (hobby form) male (Curly Fries) at 3 and 3/4 inches:

B. albopilosum (Nicaraguan form) female (Kaylee) at 2 and 7/8 inches:

B. albopilosum (Nicaraguan form) male (Mr. Miyagi) at 3 inches:

B. boehmei female (Ginger) at 3 and 3/4 inches:

B. emilia male (Rhubarb) at 2 and 1/2 inches:

C. versicolor at 2 inches:

C. cyaneopubescens at 1 inch:

Euathlus sp. red at 1 inch:

G. iherengi female (Voodoo) at 2 and 5/8 inches:

G. pulchra female (Niobe) at 2 and 7/8 inches:

G. pulchripes female (Legs) at 4 and 1/2 inches:

G. rosea (RCF) at 2 and 1/4 inches:

L. klugi female (Minerva) at 3 inches:
