I got my.first scorpion and it's a Asian forest scorpion still small

that's a little too big for that guy. I'd consider keeping him in a smaller enclosure until he grows some.

Dont have anything else and was told it's been in a.small take out food try type of thing for a year

For one that small I would personally use some sort of smaller sterilite bin (like a 12qt or something around there...not sure how big your scorpion is) if you are going to rehouse it....it gives a secure space, helps keep the humidity in and still deep enough to give enough digging room in the substrate...imo at least

I use this too house one of my scorplings and it would work great in your situation, They sell them at Petsmart and there designed for insects and arachnids. Comes with substrate a hide fake plants etc. it's around 20-30 dollars.
