Need an ID on wolf spider

    Cool looking spider. This was found in Iran? I couldn't even guess the genus, looks like Hogna, but really I have no idea about your fauna if that is from Iran. Big ol' girl that is for sure. Did you find it in a burrow?

    Lycosa sp. check species of Lycosa in that region. someone will chime in eventually. there are ab members knowledgeable w/ Lycosa species of the Middle East.

    Yes she was found around Tehran in a burrow. I've heard that there are even bigger wolf spider in that area.
    I've checked an quite out-dated book on Iranian arachnids, according to the book, there is only one Lycosa species and that's L. suzuki which was also found around Tehran. I googled it and came with no image result :(
