I hope I put this in the right place.

I found this Pupa in August or September of last year in central Georgia.
It was under a few inches of pine straw.

I've kept it buried in a small container ever since.
I'm fairly certain it's some type of moth but I was wondering if anyone knew what kind.
Originally it would wriggle vigorously when disturbed. It stills does this when prodded enough but it's notably more lethargic.

Thanks for any assistance...

Sounds like some Sphingidae pupa. There are other families with "active" pupation stage, but I don't know american species. Picture would help in identification.
