I'm building my first sling enclosure currently for, hopefully, a GBB. The T I'm looking at is about 1 in so its a rather small build. Made of plexiglass, I currently have the back and base curing. I can already feel this is going to be a trip and a half to assemble, but I feel its going to be ok when I'm done.

I'll post pics of progress when I have some light.

IMO, unless you really enjoy building enclosures, I wouldn't spend a lot of time or money on a sling enclosure, as it won't be long before your sling outgrows it.

Condiment and deli cups work well for slings. Be sure to include anchor points (e.g. vines/leaves or wooden skewers) for your GBB to web.

I want to learn how to do it now before I have to do it on a larger scale.

Here is is so far. I have the top and the bottom half of the front cut. Just need to secure them before I cut the sides. I may to a sliding top for maintainance and rehousing, I'm not quite sure yet.

Always good to see others venture into scratch building enclosures. :)
Once you get the hang of it, they're quite easy to make. I've built nearly 100, juvenile and adult size, a pair 2"X2"X4" for dwarf scorpions. (pics below)
Modified containers, easist for most, are ok, but I prefer to build to the size/s I want. Plus the satisfaction that comes from the build makes it that much more rewarding.
Looking forward to seeing a pic of it completed. Best of luck!

    Looks good!
Is that a tube of silicone you're using as an adhesive?

Yeah, I'm using 100 percent silicone.

The one thing to really be cautious about building a sling enclosure is to really make sure the opening mechanism is flush and secure. Ts can escape from surprisingly tiny openings. This is actually one good reason to use deli containers..... the tops usually click nice and flush against the rim with ease.

Of I'm well aware, all vent holes are going to be smaller than its chest and the door is going to be magnetized.
