My dream species

Today’s the day I finally achieved my dream of owning what has been one of my dream inverts for years and years- a Scolopendra galapagoensis.

She’s a stunning 8-8.5 inch female, which I’m not sure to describe as a large juvenile or adult given the final size reports on this species? Either way I’m absolutely thrilled.
I’ve been hesistant to spend on this species for a long time, but now that I have I regret not doing it sooner.

Enough rambling, have some pictures I think maybe I’ll name her Emma!

Beautiful specimen.

I know exactly what you mean by being hesitant about this species. I was too, or rather I wasn't overly impressed, until I saw one in the flesh. They are beautiful creatures for sure!

Unless galaps are different, at that size she will likely be sexually mature already. Centipedes often become sexually mature well before they are fully grown.
