Advertisement Hello, Recently, I've been doing research on purchasing a good beginner tarantula. My current top picks are a Honduran curlyhair (Brachypelma albopilosum) [preferably] or a desert blonde (Aphonopelma chalcodes) [a close second, could def. settle for one]. I've been checking out a few sellers for these two. I can't reliably find proof that local pet stores offer these two breeds, so I've resorted to look through the wild world of online sellers. I'm checking out the closest seller (Carolina Biological), though I can't find many reviews. However, they are a major and professional company. They seem very legitimate, but I would like to know if anyone here has purchased from them. Additionally, I've gathered that sites like Backwater Reptiles are massively unreliable and Swift's Inverts is truly the way to go (universally positive reviews, it seems). Is the hype worth it? Swift's offers a money order option which I intend to utilize. Anyone else purchased tarantulas from Swift this way? I know that the guaranteed "live on arrival" shipping cost with a minimum $20 order totals to $65 USD. Sure, that's more than $20, but I think it would be 100% worth it if Swift is that good a seller. But I'm not just inquiring about Swift's, obviously... Any other sellers you would recommend, especially when buying either of these two breeds? And should I choose Carolina Biological or Swift's? Looking for a seller that is preferably well known, respected, trustworthy, honest, reliable, and not a drain on the ol' wallet. :') Thanks. I'd love to hear some of your personal experiences (and advice- I'm torn between the two sellers...!). Until next time... x.
