so I just noticed some mites in my isopod bin a few minutes ago. They're white but they are not grain mites. They move at about the same speed as a springtail. Should I be worried? I tried to get a pic but they're a bit too small for my phone to pick up. I would really rather not abandon the colony if it can be avoided.

Mites are usually in every enclosure of isopods and are not harmful if in small amounts. Only if you are overfeeding and they reproduce in plague numbers will they become harmful. If their white are you sure their not springtails?

Hope this helps,

yeah, they're definitely not springs. I breed those so I definitely know what they look like lol. i think i'll just cut back on food completely and let the bin dry out a bit as well.
