Millipede inking

I have never witnessed this until last night, my daughter was holding one of my five Congo giant millipedes, they inked her with yellow liquid, this morning her hands were stained pink, cool huh.

not so much, its a deffence mechanism, some people can get rashes and im not sure if its the same for this species, but the millipedes from Zimbabwe also crap on you and their yelloow liquid releases a tear jerking smell best to let the pede walk on you rather than grasping it, the smell and staining stay for a while

I thought it was cool because I hadn't seen it before, and yes I know it is a defense mechanism. My daughter was not to thrilled.

Hehe I experienced this a short while ago aswell, when one of my bigger millipedes molted and was soft and fragile and I ofcourse couldn't keep my hands off it. My hands were litteraly soaked! But a word of advise, don't get it on your clothes!
