no one???

I did some research and found 2 possible spp.

Iris oratoria or Mantis religiosa
I'm leaning towards mantis religiosa due to coloration and location.

Any comments from any mantis expert??

Nice mantis. Are you keeping it in the deli cup?

If the coxae on the inside of the raptorial legs bear a black ring-like marking then most likely Mantis religiosa. A very common mantid throughout Europe and the eastern United States.

This looks like a chinese mantis which is native to the eastern U.S. I went to North Carolina for a couple months and have caught the same looking one. There are lots of chinese mantids down there in the south and are mostly brown to light tan in color.
