I just had to share this photo with everyone. Any guesses as to what it is? ;P Please note I didn't take this photo. This is from a series photo I requested be taken for me of a critter I had found. Also I had to crop it but I didn't enlarge it in any way.

it looks translucent, cool. to answer your question, it is a scorpion's stinger. seriously. if you meant what species, can't help you.

I don't know what it is at all. Would a scorpions stinger have those "hairs" on the segment right close to the stinger?

Hi,

i think it could even be a Bulbus and them embolus of a male spider. But where ist the rest auf the Tarsus/ Metatarsus?

Hi!

It looks like the bulbus of a haplogyne spider´s pedipalp, but it is probably the stinger of a scorpion.

well, they do look quite similar, very similar, but there is no projection of the last segemnt in the macro picture.

@Molitor I think the angle was just right... ;) that link you had was a very close depliction... if you are keeping score give yourself a point for the link. :razz:

PS the spider is Loxosceles rufescens (mature male of coarse) incase anyone was interested
