What kind of cameras do you guys use? I am looking for a camera that takes very good pictures, can put those pictures on the internet, and doesnt cost an arm and a leg.

My newest is a Nikon D80, but it definitely cost an arm and maybe a foot.

My older digital camera that still does a sufficient job for only being 4mp is an Olympus C750. I still keep it in the truck in case I need to snap a quick picture, and all in all it served me great for 5 or so years.

My grandmother recently purchased a Sony Cybershot to replace her broken film camera. I don't know the model number offhand, it was a black deal. 10mp as well and only set her back a couple hundred dollars at Circuit City. I tested it out and it too takes pretty good shots, is simple to use, and was relatively inexpensive.

Edit: The only black Sony Cybershot I see that's 10mp is the Sony Cybershot DSCW170/B

I don't know if you want an advanced point-and-shoot or a digital SLR.

I don't own a DSLR (too expensive, I'll rather spend the money on big T's) but I am totally satisfied with my Fujifilm Finepix F20. It takes good macro and beautiful pics and cost me $120. For pic quality, check my pic thread. They will never be like good DSLR but definitely good quality. And it is pretty good with low light condition.

I use the canon powershot digital elph. SD750. I bought it last year for 300$. I think you can get the newer version for around 200$ or so. It takes great pictures, fits easily in your pocket, has a very nice display.

I'll have to second the recommendation for the Canon Powershot SD series. I've had the SD400 for over 3 years and it I've always been very impressed with the quality.

It really depends on the budget. D80 is ok. So is the rebel xti.

What you really need is to decide what you want out of it.

For simple point and shot, Nikon is the best, either their dslr or point and shoot. ( think soccer mom.)

For creative work, Canon is much much better.

So with in budget,
No camera skills needed. in no order but price
1.) Canon Powershot A1000 IS about $140
2.) Nikon Coolpix S610c About $210.
3.)Canon PowerShot SD880 IS about $250
4.)Nikon Coolpix P6000 about $350
5.)Canon Powershot G10 about $400.
6.)Nikon D60/d40x about 400
7.) Nikon D90 about 900

For camera skills needed in no order but price
1.) Canon 450 xsi/ xs about $400
2.)Nikon d 300 about 1200
3.) canon 50d/40d about 1300-1500
4.) Canon 5d mk II about 3000
5.) Nikon d3 for about 4000
