Pulled my female black widows eggsac and put it in this. Will it work or not?

It should be fine as long as you keep the cup dry so you don't get mold. Widow egg sacs are pretty bullet proof. They'll hatch just fine under the most inhospitable conditions. Also, if you have ventilation holes, make sure they're no more than pin pricks. Widow hatchlings are very small - and you probably don't want a bunch of them loose in your house. I use the fabric-vented insect lids when I've got widow eggs.

Right on! Thank you. How long does it take them to become adults?

I honestly don't remember. Maybe five or six months or so? I have so many L. hesperus in my yard and garage that I haven't bothered raising up babies in ages. I did raise some up a few years ago, just to see if I could - but these days I'm more likely to pull and destroy the egg sacs, just so I'm not overrun with baby widows. I can always go outside and catch another one if I want to.

Sweet, I’m def gonna keep a lot once they hatch, widows are super hard to find where I live.
