    Specimen: Latrodectus geometrucus

    Cause: Self envenomation

I placed the specimen against my finger and pressed on it until I felt the prick of it biting me. Just to be sure I got a dose of venom, I held it down for a few more seconds.

    Time of bite: 12:45 PM

12:45 PM: nothing yet. I can feel a slight bit of pain that lets me know that it bit me.

1:05 PM: some redness and very mild
    Pain at the bite site.

1:40 PM: area is slightly tender and pain is bee sting like .

3:45 PM: area is still red with some sensitivity.

6:25 PM: pretty much all effects are gone.
