Well, the dorsal pattern of tredecimguttatus is the obvious difference, but as we know, they don’t have any dorsal pattern in parts of Africa. I wonder if the hourglass is a way to tell them apart. I know tredecimguttatus has a similar pattern to menavodi. Size may also be a difference.
As usual, the most reliable way would be to use a microscope to analyze the reproductive organs.
