Is using wild caught crickets safe??

This may have been talked about before, but does any one use wild caught crickets ?

Can they introduce mould or mites to out tarantulas??

hmm

food sorces in the wild are a BIG NO NO. They can have pesticides mite and maybe even some type or paracite (sp) that can kill your T.

i wouldn't, never know what the cricket got in contact with (insectecide, might be sick), maby not sure about mites tho. it's not worth the risk.
in my area they spray for bugs outside, so i couldn't do that.

edpends on where you live
im in the middle of no where and i havent had a problem for quite some time
but i would suggest to get a feeder colony asap
i just got some b. dubia and my ts love em
and so does my red tegu lizard

No, it is NOT safe. I used to use crickets as feeders which I got from my local exotic pet shop, but then I found out those, too, are WC. Now I have two roach colonies (Dubias and B. lateralis) and life has never been better. I plan to try orange-heads next, maybe even lobster roaches.

And just to throw this out there, if you use the search function, it will turn up all the past threads about wild caught anything.
