At first glance something looks off to me, pulchra slings tend to have a darker look and more stout build.

Need a better picture to be certain.

It does look very similar to Brachys, has a patch and pale colored abdomen. I hope it is a pulchra. If any breeders have pics of ones the same size as mine it would really help

Euhm, no. The ones in the pictures I linked are second instars. First instar is from EWL to sling. Here in Europe, at least. I think this would make yours second or third instar, meaning it can very well be a pulchra. But with the mild striping on the legs it could also be a G.pulchripes. I hope it's a pulchra for your sake...

I got this sling today bought as G.Pulchra but all the slings I see online are much darker. Is this really g.puclhra
Most NW terrestrial slings look real similar, just like this...pulchra is no different. I see no reason to doubt its pulchra until it gains size and is obviously not.

EWL stands for Eggs With Legs. Tarantula eggs do not "hatch" in the conventional veiw of eggs, rather they basically grow legs.
From here they molt, now they are first instar (in Europe this would be called a nymph). At this stage they almost look like true spiders, they generally do not eat and should not be sold.

After this, they molt again and are not second instar (in Europe its considered first). Now they look like little fuzzier ts and eat and can be sold.

My G. pulchra when I first got it (no idea what instar, was around 1.5-2cm)

This is what my Grammostola pulchra sling look like. It should be around 1/2” since it molted twice after I got it as 1/4” size.

Requests to identify or confirm a tarantula's species (or variation) should be uploaded in the Tarantula Identification gallery, not posted on the forum.

  1. Click the above link.
  2. Click "Add Media" (near the upper-right corner).
  3. Select "Upload an image from your files" (should be selected by default).
  4. Click "Upload Image."
  5. Select the image file on your computer or phone.
  6. Add a title (preferably including the name yo were give, if any) and description.
  7. Click "Save Media."

If you have multiple images of the same tarantula, the best way to handle that is post a comment on your first image with thumbnail links to the additional images.

How to embed images in comments (I recommend using the thumbnail option):
  1. Open the image (in Arachnoboards) that you want to embed.
  2. Copy the code in "Share BB (With Thumbnail) Code" or "Share BB GALLERY Code." (Both of these options allow the user to click the image for a link to the source.)
  3. Paste the code where you want the image to be in your comment.

"Share BB IMG (With Thumbnail) Code" results in a square preview with a link to the original:

"Share BB GALLERY Code" results in a larger preview with a link to the original:
