After I’ve been putting my used up flower beetle soil and droppings outside, I realised it attracted tons of flower beetles and made them breed in my garden. Next year I put used up stag beetle soil and the same thing happened but with stag beetles. The scent of other beetles from the soil seems to attract them.

I think I actually remember reading something along that line about cetoniines. It had something to do with all the frass acting as an attractant to a good oviposition I think.
