I've noticed that ehenewhe I feed my pedes and try to take pics or videos with lighting they seem to "dance" with they're legs which seems to be a sign of nervousness to me. Would that be correct? I've seen this in my Dehaani and Polymorpha, I'm sure my subcrustalis would too but it never leaves it's hide.

As a quick side question: does anyone know if catnip would affect springtails at all? I planted some in one of my enclosures and they went absolutely crazy for it.

Yeah, I think it's just them being photophobic.
That being said, pedes do seem to get used to light, and many of the pedes I've had for longer don't really care. When it comes to Azog, my big tiger E. rubripes, I can shine a torch in its face from only a few centimetres away without any reaction.

I had never thought of whether it affects animals other than cats. Any effect on the centipedes? Would be cool if it chilled them out so we don't have to go through weeks of socialisation before we can pick them up!
