Insect photography

    It's finally spring in Wisconsin! Just wanted to share my attempts at nature photography. These are waterstriders (Gerris sp.).

    I am not real sure but from seeing them around here that looks like a "stink bug" if that is the case you are most definetly better off taking pics....they really do stink when you smush em

    Thanks Vayu Son--hopefully I'll get lots more practice taking insect pics when the weather warms up more!

    And no, those are waterstriders--stink bugs are in the same order, different family. I know a stink bug when I see it (or smell it!) :p

    Water skeeters/striders stink to HIGH HEAVEN!!!! maybe thats why he calls them that. Next time pick one up and sniff it!! But make sure your sitting down. LOL
