Hey! Does anybody use infrared lamps for heating tarantulas/scorpions enclosures? What pluses/minuses have you noticed?
I use now oil heater to heat entire room with enclosures, but it gives no more than +24-25C, but for some scorpions it would be nice to have +30C, which is quite hard to achieve with oil heater.

First of all: I'm really amazed that you are a member of this forum since 2007 and that this is your first post.

I think that you could maybe add a ceramic-heat lamp or one of these infrared-heatmats and have it above your enclosures with the heat-side downwards. That might be a bit more energy efficient.
But I would make sure to have this extra heat-source on a thermostate. Just to make sure that nothing malfunctions or overheats and cooks your scorpions.

I have decided (and already did that) to buy heatmats. Thanks everyone:)
