ID needed for orange sinking oblong (bugs?)

What are these? Found them in my OBT's water dish upon checking on my animals this morning. They came in overnight. They are sunk down to the bottom of the water dish and don't appear to move. I removed the water dish and took the picture before cleaning it out and replacing with clean water. Just need to know if anything else is required

Any idea why it would be bright orange? I'm totally okay with her using her water dish as a toilet but the color is just not something I'm used to seeing

My guess is it absorbed some color from the substrate maybe?
