i wasn't able to get any decent shots from other angles, unfortunately. not without disturbing the spiders or tumbling into the chicago river, at least.

not much to add, just wanted to share this tangle of legs!

The male is suprisingly; I’m more used to seeing teeny tiny males like for latrodectus or neph.

they are almost exclusively near water sources, from what i know. i've been surprised to see them pretty far from water (though the individual spiders i'm thinking of now may hunt over a fountain in summer & hide/reproduce in a nearby underpass in the fall...).
